I'd be interested, not sure how much you'd be after for it though. I run cold...
-

Hmmmm, yea I get that although I wouldn't say it's too bulky to ride in... and yes, it is a warm jacket which is great as you don't have to proper layer up underneath... it wasn't too cold when I went out, wore a base layer and the jacket and it kept me warm... again the two way zip is a godsend... I wouldn't wear it if it was pissing down as it's not a fully waterproof jacket but drizzle and stuff you'd probably get away with

It really is very warm. I wear mine anything below 10° off the bike, with various other layers. I probably can't get away with wearing it on the bike if it's any warmer than 5°, even with a short sleeve base layer, but I do run quite warm.

Does anyone have the Zoa rain trousers?
-
• #931
I do. I wear them with just bibs underneath either winter or summer bibs depending on how cold it gets. Ended up sizing down as the waist is pretty big. Worth the money though.

Insulated zoa is more of a jacket for a ride that has stops. If you're just going out and smashing it it's going to be overkill for everything above 0, but if you're going out with a thermos and a cake you can make use of it.

I have them and really like them but, like joepud01, I would size down if I was buying again. I'm a pretty standard 32 waist and have the medium adjusted as small as they will go most of the time.

Rapha should learn from this gem of copywriting IMO.
-
• #935
Rapha doesn't have real copy, just bullet points. Tragic. I personally will NEVER buy from a company that only list key features as though they're trying to sell me an impact driver rather than a piece of wearable culture.
"Ergonomic fit and construction that works on and off the bike." fuck off mate.

These bibs rode

I was similar and I think it depends how you want to wear them. If you plan on using them over normals I would get a large. If you want them over bibs get a medium. I just wear bibs under mine to sized down and got a medium. The leg is pretty tapered so I don't think you would get much more than a skinny jean under them. As for leg length I'm over 6ft so riding trousers are always sit around my ankle bone.
Best option buy both try them a few ways and send one back.

Thoroughly enjoyed using the repair kit to patch a few holes in my winter tights from a crash last year. Recommended.

I may well do that.
What are they like over the knees if you were to wear them over bib shorts rather than longs - clingy / plasticky or is there a lining?
-

I ride mounting bikes mainly and I'm sure I could wear a knee pad under them too. For me the only place they are a bit clingy is around the ankle but I don't mind that as it holds them in place.

hi all, happy new year, sorry I've been off here; was out sick most of xmas break :/ and trying to reduce screen time. Recovering now, but an absolute bummer of a year end (following the recurring leg infection and rage-rage smashed ribs) having been the fittest I'd been for ages in September....!
@ghostface well spotted - we have a new gen coming in Spring, with a few additional tweaks. The cuff closure is similar to the Zoa Rainshell, with the wrap-round, meaning easier to get on/off, greater adjustment, and venting if/when needed. Rear elastic has been refined/eliminated, and it has the function of two-way front zip but with convenience of single slider (going to be interesting to see peoples reaction to this!). ...will post more details as and when I can
Thanks for the feedback/guidance on the Zoa Rain trouser all, agree with all the points. I found a Large fitted me (6ft 4 long legs, L in bibs) as well as other Large body types in the studio (stockier, proportionally shorter legs), with the ankle cuff allowing a wide range of fit in leg.
@snoops great to see :) If you need, you can cut a patch into shape, fuse edges with a lighter/hot knife - and if you're not feeling the colour and can handle a scuffy look to the fix, just apply the patch on the interior and wave a lighter over external to fuse loose threads
@Sergeant_Pluck it's got a soft, fine inner layer on the laminate, so v comfy against skin and not clammy.

Picking up some arm and leg warmers in the sale, size guide is a bit strange though or I'm being thick; arm/leg width doesn't seem very intuitive, surely it should be circumference? Going for large in any case. Also gonna grab a LS merino base layer, much needed!

Thank you! Just ordered.

How big are the repair patches? I've got a pair of bib tights with a fairly large hole in I'd like to repair.

Wishing you a happier and healthier start to the new year than it sounds like the end of the last year was!
I ended up buying one of the 3.0 versions. Small fits really well and I’m
very impressed with it so far - I’ve only tried it on inside though. Sounds like the changes aren’t going to leave me rueing my impatience! -

Super quick delivery on items I ordered and everything looks top quality but I should have gone for Medium instead of Large. @Chopsicle - I'm not far from Deptford, is it possible to pop in at some point this week and size down to Medium?

Would anyone be interested in my small men’s earth red insulated jacket? Purchased last year, barely worn. £90 Inc post?
Agree with this. I just use mine as a causal jacket and am never cold even when it was really cold before Xmas.
It's really good for bike packing / general camping though as it takes up very little space and basically doubles as a pillow once it's in it's bag.
