• 2 zips 1 gear 0 problems

  • Wait, you ride fixed?!

  • Oasts and Coasts - pretty ironic for me huh

  • Mo zips, mo problems

  • Have also had zero problems with the front two way zip. Not a huge fan of the double zips on the pockets however, can’t say I’ve ever struggled with a single zip and one of them always seems to be catching my hand/not allowing the pocket to fully open.

The jacket is excellent however. I use it way more off the bike than I do on it

  • Me being smarter than any jacket is questionable as more likely it’s user error.

Fair points though, perhaps I need to try again with an open mind with the option of replacing with one way in the background if I still can’t get on with going two-way

  • (I’ve also just popped into Trekkit Mountain Sports in Hereford, every flipping jacket in sight had a two-way zip, it’s like I was being personally taunted.

Grudinhly, I accept I may be a one-way zip purist Luddite (although I may try to save face by howling into the void a little longer before quietly acquiescing when I think no one is looking)

  • How does everyone find the arm length for the long sleeve jerseys?

I bought an orange long sleeve (the one on sale) and find the arm length to be too long for the large (though comfortable in the body), the he arm length in the medium is better, but much too tight over the body.

Edit: am 178cm, 78kg. Should I size down and rely on the stretch to see me through?

  • PSA, it's ok to turn up cycling sleeves and legs

  • 183cm and 72kg - medium long sleeve arm length is perfect, so probably size down as they’re pretty stretchy.

It’s short on the body though with a tendency for a gap between jersey and bib shorts at the front when standing up straight, and the rear pockets being a bit high for comfort

  • Those of us with long arms have been frustrated for decades because cycling clothing companies don't consider our needs.

Fuck you. (In a friendly way).

+1 on what @PhilDAS said too

  • I roll up the sleeves of my Albion jerseys, 174cm and 74kg

  • Sort of following up on an earlier post regarding alterations to waterproof technical clothing - is this a thing that any company takes on? I can imagine it’s potentially thankless, as you’d be in the firing line for any leaks, but it would be an extremely useful service to be aware of if one exists.

  • On this subject, what happens when the sleeves are too short? I find forever that at 6’2 but very skinny I end up normally taking a small but then end up with sleeves that are never quite long enough, especially on rain jackets. You either end up in an xl that’s like wearing a ship’s sail but at least the sleeves fit, or you end up in a well fitting body but one that has the sleeves several inches short of your wrists

  • Get length added or have something cutsom made. Having length added is quite a straight forward job.

  • Eat more pies.

  • I tried this, just ended up being a skinny 6ft1 70kg (up from 64kg) with a pot belly.
the extra weight didn’t change my arm length either.

  • Yep Scottish Mountain Gear did a great job for me on a Gore-Tex jacket. Bit of a waiting time at this time of year though (probably any time of year)

  • So you can say “trousers up by an inch, waist in by two, please shorten the shoulder straps by 2”?” And they’ll do that?

  • @Chopsicle I’m considering purchasing the 3.0 rain jacket -I’ve noticed quite a few sizes are sold out on the website, is a restock due or is there a newer version release planned anytime soon that it’s worth holding out for?

  • Got out my Zoa insulated and man, was I toasty... lovely riding jacket and the two way zip is great for dumping a bit of heat... paired this with my insulated leg warmers which are a great bit of kit as well.
    A+

  • The one negative review of the Zoa insulated that I've found (off.road.cc) said that the jacket was actually too warm and bulky to be useful for riding with. Wonder if you or any of the other recent buyers have found it to be an issue?

Also, how is it in the rain? Tempted to buy one but would be sizing it as an outer layer.

  • Showerproof with the dwr coating but do you want to be warm or wet.
Its a cold weather jacket without a doubt.

  • too warm

This is true. I wore for first time today on bike on a 50km, 6 - 8 degrees out and I was ROASTING. Just a merino longsleeve baselayer underneath.

Zips made it manageable, just. Wouldn't say it's bulky though, packs nicely in it's pocket thing.

Am wondering whether I'll truly get the use out of it, as I don't really ride when there is a chance of ice.

Could be tempted to move it on if anyone's after a large black? Might replace with a thinner Albion jacket, as I love the quality and design.
