• Got out my Zoa insulated and man, was I toasty... lovely riding jacket and the two way zip is great for dumping a bit of heat... paired this with my insulated leg warmers which are a great bit of kit as well.
    A+

  • The one negative review of the Zoa insulated that I've found (off.road.cc) said that the jacket was actually too warm and bulky to be useful for riding with. Wonder if you or any of the other recent buyers have found it to be an issue?

Also, how is it in the rain? Tempted to buy one but would be sizing it as an outer layer.

  • too warm

This is true. I wore for first time today on bike on a 50km, 6 - 8 degrees out and I was ROASTING. Just a merino longsleeve baselayer underneath.

Zips made it manageable, just. Wouldn't say it's bulky though, packs nicely in it's pocket thing.

Am wondering whether I'll truly get the use out of it, as I don't really ride when there is a chance of ice.

Could be tempted to move it on if anyone's after a large black? Might replace with a thinner Albion jacket, as I love the quality and design.

  • Hmmmm, yea I get that although I wouldn't say it's too bulky to ride in... and yes, it is a warm jacket which is great as you don't have to proper layer up underneath... it wasn't too cold when I went out, wore a base layer and the jacket and it kept me warm... again the two way zip is a godsend... I wouldn't wear it if it was pissing down as it's not a fully waterproof jacket but drizzle and stuff you'd probably get away with

  • It really is very warm. I wear mine anything below 10° off the bike, with various other layers. I probably can't get away with wearing it on the bike if it's any warmer than 5°, even with a short sleeve base layer, but I do run quite warm.
