I love babycorn, great in stir frys

great in stir frys
It is.
-
• #3480
Conversely i reall dislike sweetcorn in any form and still think I'm being trolled by the whole world when everyone says it's sweet
-
• #3481
Is there another distinctive flavour that overpowers the sweetness for you? No two people's taste buds are the same and some people are much more sensitive to particular substances than others. Like coriander, where some people can only taste soap.

I guess the easy handgrenade to lob here is : “guy lives trains but doesn’t do anything to support the union strikes publicly “

I'm firmly of the opinion that he'll end up as a presenter on GB News.
-
• #3485
It's been a long time since I've eaten it so it's hard to conjure up the flavour in my head but it's a kind of old grass cutting sort of musty vibe.
Yeah I've heard about the coriander thing, for years I only heard it said by people who called it cilantro and for years and I always idly wondered what this weird mexican herb was. I was mindblown when I found out they were talking about coriander

He won’t fit as he firmly wants a nationalised railway and infrastructure.

Like Mussolini.

That’s old world facists, new world dudes want the markets etc and so on

I’ve never got the fucking hold “the freedom driving gives you” lie has over the world.
Driving is shit. Fact. -
• #3490
Driving is fucking shit but it's also very convenient. I was at my mum's in Peterborough for Christmas. I borrowed her car because I really, really didn't want to lug a dog, a cat and a sack of presents across London in the mass Christmas exodus.
Then again, if you gain any sense of "freedom" crawling across town as the only person sat in your car, watching pedestrians overtake you, there's something wrong with you. -

I left Derby at 1230 and got home to se26 at 715. Driving is not fun. And I don’t do the driving. It’s just fucking stressful.

Fucking hell, that's a bastard!

Yeah. That’s about right.

Changing toothbrushes.
There's contradictory reasons given, as in
- the bristles wear out, so they'll no longer be effective
- the bristles wear out and so become too
abrasive
I've never had great teeth, though in the last decade things have improved. I brush twice daily and floss once. Having done experiments on the sly, it certainly hasn't made any difference in my gum health or tooth decay.

This country's weird obsession with school uniforms. Grim.
-
• #3496
Provided they aren’t super prescriptive and posh I’m not fussed, in fact I’m quite pro. No one gets judged for the quality/fashion of their clothes, no arguments in the morning about what they want to wear.

Maybe not, and yet bullying and classism is far worse here than in the American and Canadian school systems. (Anecdata; I attended schools in the US and UK)

'Speaking as a parent', having previously been loosely in favour of them I am now very pro.
Our nursery has a jumper and t-shirt uniform, and it makes life so much easier. The idea of having to fuck around with a range of clothes come school age is a totally off-putting.

It's helpful to know which side you're on when you take on the secondary modern boys.

My wife went to school in the states and is very pro-uniform because of exactly what Tonts wrote. It’s a flattener. We probably need it more here
Ya nob.
