  • I’ve got an older fixed Stanley knocking around and it is a nice thing for sure. Seems there’s a few nicer fixed options from some carpet fitting suppliers such as the Delphin.

    I do accept that Stanley and artisanal hipster don’t go hand in hand but at the same time I’d have thought there must be many folks working in the the artisanal hipster trades(like me) who use a Stanley daily. Sure, I could use a nice kiridashi for the same purpose but I’d spend as much time sharpening as working if that was the case.

    Hmm, maybe I need to be the one to create the market and fill the niche?
    How hard could it be? Presume I just need to replicate the sliding mechanism inside some flat scales then make handles from whatever fancy things get knife geeks hot under the collar…

    Are there many other actual hipster artisans like yourself? Think the real market is hipster-artisan-as-a-vibe for the soft handed consumer?
