That's comforting. It's now been 10 days since I did it, and I'm still waiting for a surgery date.
Presuming 6 weeks of the cast on will start after surgery, so the last 10 days have been bonus ones.
My leg and foot look really bruised, which ilI wouldn't have expected, and the cast already feels a bit baggy.
My legs are skinny at the best of times, the right one will be twig like

My cousin shattered both his ankles in his early 30s in a dirt bike accident when he overshot his landing.
His wife wasn't too keen on him continuing his hobby anymore so he took up MTB instead. Now some 10 years later he's a more than decent mountain biker / cyclist, having completed Roc d'Azur.
Your ankle will take time to heal, but there's hope just yet
