Polishing Titanium

  • I've got a Planet X Tempest and it's got burnished bits where the branding and such is. I wondered if it was possible to polish / brush them out? Also, is it possible to polish the titanium up to a brighter shine, more chrome like? I just think I'd prefer the finish and look of it.

  • Try furniture polish if you have some

  • scotchbrite pad

  • ^ that and only brush in one direction

  • You will spend a lot of time trying to get a polished finish. Refreshing a brushed frame is however only a 30m job for a frame

Brush around the tube not length wise

  • If you want it mirror polished, which does look amazing. Go to a jewellers that does repairs and ask them to have a go. I’ve had a couple of largish car parts done this way and they come out like nothing you’ve seen before and it didn’t cost too much. If you strip it down to a bare frame it’s a pretty easy/quick job that’s free money to them. Well worth a try.

  • This guy is great and reasonably priced.
