I spent some time on Gumtree when I needed to replace my dear old 205. I looked outside of London, and found an ‘04 Ford Focus in Cambridge for £700. The guy bought it from an old friend for his wife, and it had a full, and I mean full, service history and every receipt since new. I think you just have to take your time and sift through the ads til you spot one that fits the bill, and is genuine.
