How risky is it to run a standard gp5000 32c tubeless on hooked rims?
I thought I had the TL model but I don’t.
-
• #115580
do you mean the other way around - I thought hooked rims are standard rims, ie not tubeless specific

I’m talking about a Hope 20five wheel set, which I believe is hooked. I have non-tubeless gp5000 tyres. Is there a reason not to run them tubeless with this set up?

Is there a reason not to run them tubeless with this set up?
Mainly that they probably won't hold air
Hooked is fine tho

And it will be hard to mount them as they will sit loose on the rim.

Did just find it hard to seat them with a Beto inflator thing. Hmm. Thanks

Any idea on what size ‘reducer ring’ type product for this. The ring measures around 108mm internal diameter. Maybe there is some sort of universal adapter I could find for it?

Two rechargeable AAs - pretty old. I put them in the charger and it just showed blinking rather than charging. I left for an hour and still the same. They are Ni-MH. Likely to have just deteriorated and need to be disposed of? They must be 10+ years old.
-
• #115590
Yep, dead. Probably lost all their charge and now can’t be recovered.
-
• #115591
NiMh doesn’t mind being completely discharged, so they should charge up again. If they’ve gone completely completely flat though, sometimes the charger doesn’t recognise them because the voltage is too low. There is a little trick you can do to fool the charger into starting a charge but I cannot for the life of me remember how to do it. It can be done.

Find a good battery and parallel them up with coins / screwdrivers / whatever metal you have handy, outside of the charger. Hold for a few minutes and then stick the old battery straight in the charger.

Cheers! Will try it

Anyone wanna hazard a guess at a red/orange-ish and yellow-ish Ral that could produce a fade paint job that would match this in nod-and-wink kinda way?
-
• #115595
Looks a lot like Ral 2005 luminous orange and a combo of Ral 1016 and Ral 1018 for the yellow

Reminds me of this

So my VO polyvalent got nicked a few weeks ago. I was a dumbass and locked it to a street sign that was easily lifted by a drunk person at midnight. Insurance wheels are moving, so it's time to think about replacement options.
Steel or alu, mudguards, relatively big tyres and a front rack are the requirements. What would you guys consider? It's for commuting mostly.
Same again, spring for crust, maybe Fairlight? -

What are some options budget friction bar end shifters? I'm keeping eye on microshift as I have their thumbie and quite enjoy it, but perhaps there are other options? Or..anyone knows who can get spares for microshift in eu? I think i can get away by just getting a bar end mount for the thumbie?
-
• #115599
The indexed sturmey archer/ sunrace thumbshiftets can easily be converted to friction. Pretty sure they will bolt onto a bar end shifter mount.

Cool beans. Any word on where to get a bar end mount?
Cunt of a corner, the 37 bus ran over my beloved bmx on that very corner RIP
