Toyota dealer tried to get me to trade in my RAV for a new electric one, the RAV Prime.
Tried it out, great, said I will write a check right now….
Salesman says wellll you can’t have this on but if you give us your car we will order one for you. When will it come? Uh…soon.
So in the meantime I have no car?
I left.
Coworker got sucked in. Gave them his car in April and they fucked him around with “a week or two” and “definitely on it’s way” bullshit. Finally got it in October.

The Rav4 prime is crazy popular, it’s the one I have on order (just called plug in hybrid here)
They have a face lifted version that they started building in November, so they have converted my order to the face lifted version, which is the reason they are giving for the delay.
They have told me that they are are prioritising existing orders, so doesn’t look great for lead times on new orders right now….Waiting for January for a build slot update.
The Toyota RAV4 plug in hybrid I have on order that was supposed to be available in April 23 (ordered in May this year) has slipped to Nov 23 due to a facelift change.
My current car goes back in June 23.
Any plug in hybrids/electrics worth considering with short delivery times?
Model 3s and Ys are readily available but considerably more in lease cost than that which i have on the Toyota (ordered before the last 2 price increases)
Or so I keep the order and bridge the gap between June and Nov with something temporary?
