They are nice but had an Oris before, their vintage diver is good value

Treated myself to an early Christmas present. Need to resize the bracelet, so stuck on a NATO strap.

Baltic HMS 002 looks nice to me. 38mm but 47mm lug to lug so probably wears a bit bigger.

There are a few other Seikos apart from the Cocktail Times. E.g. you can get certain enamel dialled Presage models for under a grand.

Or the SARX055 (white) / 057 (black) - https://www.gnomonwatches.com/collections/seiko/products/presage-automatic-white-baby-gs-snowflake-ref-sarx055 - 40.8mm titanium case and 11mm thick. Pretty nice watch. Would look great on a nice black or navy strap.

Out of the treasures box for the first time since 2007, new strap and battery…the Tissot 372/472

Thank you for the anxiety attack... I thought the pillows would fold awkwardly and both watches fall out of your hand!
Honestly though, both stunning, I'd have a hard time choosing one of them, thankfully you don't have to. Enjoy :-)

Oh, ha. Sorry. It looks less stable than it was!
There's definitely some redundancy between these two now. But the movement is quite different and they do have quite different designs - the SBGW267 is more vintage in style, the SBGY029 is more a modern take on a dressy GS. The 029 has more design flair in the details, the 267 is straight down the line.

I don't think even I was that blurry.
Straps in focus mind you. -

@jbwilliamz and @regal - beauties both, you lucky tykes.
I got to try on some Grand Seiko for the first time last weekend and I now better understand the hype - was unexpectedly disappointed by the Snowflake (although that might be because they left plastic film on the sapphire) but hugely impressed by the rest.

Oooh hadn't seen this before - interested to see if you rate this, as i could be tempted into getting one myself.

Cheers 👍
The Snowflake is an interesting one - it has been made the poster child for GS because of the dial (which is undoubtedly the reason they make so many heavily textured dials now) and the unique spring drive movement, I guess, but IMO it is just too big and thick as a watch despite the lighter weight of the titanium case. Nice dial, but pretty much everything else misses the mark for me.
I think the newer Evolution 9 series watches are much better watches of that type. Although they are more expensive of course.
The GS I've liked the least in person is the SBGE271. Thought it looked awful, really poor proportions and actually quite cheap-looking.

I'm a bit in love with this model, too bad it's so tiny

What's the reference number?
That era of quartz GS are such high quality - how many watches do you see that have applied minute markers?
-
• #68795
Sbgs001, only 34mm unfortunately

What does the W&H thread think of this?
In Carter Marsh Winchester, which I spotted when I walked past yesterday.

Is the blue second hand a trick of the light? Other SBGF009 pics have all silver hands (although some could go either way).

All this Grand Seiko chat and you post a JLC with a power reserve on the front! I personally find it jarring despite liking the Ultra Thin small seconds normally.

Looks a bit like this to me

Not fitted yet but seems pretty cool way of doing it and also a few different straps too
Tried on the auto version really nice watch, great power reserve just unsure.
Green would be the one I would go for.
