How's the battery? That's the main thing that's been putting me off.

It's been 4 months since I last played Witcher 3. My continuing resolve is absolutely due to self discipline and nothing to do with the reported visual glitches and performance problems of the NG update.

On Series X and not had any issues at all. Looks absolutely wonderful.
Lots of QOL improvements, the sign casting is so much better that I actually use it now.

I think the performance oddities are on PC, which is where I would be playing it. I've also played it on Switch but there isn't much this update could do for that. Know that game back to front now and have no reason to do it yet again. I keep telling myself.

Yeah, it's definitely PC with issues. DF put out a video today on it:

This is the usual trade off: more stability and consistency on console, better graphics and performance on PC when it works and even then not predictably across the whole user base.

Noticed today that Marvel Avengers on PS4 has a co-op ability, so am going to get a second controller to play with my nearly-six year old.
Any other two player/co-op games good for kids around that age? Am going to get a cheap Fifa just to see, although I think that might be a bit too much for him.

Have also been playing ‘Beneath a Steel Sky’ on the iPad. Its very sedate pace, quirky humour and immersive world-building has been a great way to unwind in the evenings.

Tried it today. Doesn't run at all well on a 3080 even without the RT stuff on.
Will wait for the inevitable patches to improve things.

Haha it was an interview with infamous Forest Hooligan If I remember.....so Benfica might even have been mentioned!

Yeah for me it works perfectly, full charge lasts a couple to a few hours and you can just play with it plugged in / charge it up relatively quickly again so perfect for just playing at home.
It's got me back into playing games again properly for the first time in years as its just so easy....just do it honestly!

On the subject of batteries, sony have admitted the upcoming and stupidly expensive dualsense edge has worse battery life than the already rubbish stock controller.
Might have been tempted, but certainly not now.

That’s all we play. It’s fine, but they are all (have Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and Marvel across multiple consoles) so boring and unsatisfying. At least if we’re both playing there won’t be these hold ups between swapping controllers so I can find out slightly sooner what random shit you need to do to progress.

It Takes Two and Sackboy A Big Adventure are great simple platformers.

It takes two is wonderful, also unravel & 2 are beautiful and there's a few puzzley ones like portal and death squared (not violent unless you're a box) rubber bandits is fun, co-op is short, I've not tried both of us online yet but might be ok if they're slightly competent, local competitive I destroyed my kid and she's 12 and I'm shit.

The teenage mutant ninja turtles one was pretty fun and they can probably button mash their way through it.

Cheers. Ordered It Takes Two. Will fire it up when things start to flag on Christmas Day 😁
Will investigate the others. TMNT sounds fun. I think I remember a SNES scrolling beat um up.

What PC game should I get? All the lists of 100 Best Games Ever are a bit much. I like Civ5 and used to like No Man's Sky. I'm always years behind with games and hardware. Recently upgraded to a 2060 Super with a 55oo. Thinking about Fortnite or COD or Elden Ring.
I’ve pre-ordered already.
Also wear glasses. Haven’t had any issues with other VR headsets. They usually come with a spacer for glasses.
