I was interested to see what that would look like with the prints so googled it and found this article.

They clamp in the article is quite different to what you have but interesting to see they were known as Glasgow Clamps!

Heh, interesting, once upon a time I had a BSA with an "umbrella holder" on the fork leg, I wonder if it was in reality the tennis racket clip in the attached brochure.
