Where’s the motor?
That was my next question! Can't quite see the rear hub, but regardless, there's no battery. Doesn't look like any Ebike to me.

But where will I park it?

Shut up and take my money etc.

So cool!
Wonder why this hasn't been done by some of the big names already.. -

It's cool but it's very niche. I can't imagine 99% of the people who buy a folding bike would have any need for a cargo bike and I can't imagine this has anywhere near the payload/carrying capacity of a "proper" cargo bike so it probably doesn't appeal to much of that market either. Can anyone see the claimed max load weight anywhere?

• #10711
I imagine a lot more people would have a cargo bike if they didn't have to worry about storing it.

Pelago commuter rack or an Omnium Mini is great for that.

The seller just used the "sell similar item" on another Bullitt that's for sale with a Bafang motor. No -e-assist on that one.

Super rad!

Yeah, I'd be interested to know how much more weight this could take than a standard bike with full luggage.
-
• #10716
For sure. I have a german make touring frame that's designed for 40 kg at the back and around 20 at the front.

I don't own a cargo bike and don't plan on buying one as there'd be no safe place to store it whre I live right now - if it could be folded down to that size there'd suddenly be options.
And sure it would be perfect to not be limited weight wise, but frankly most of the stuff I'd need a cargo bike for are just big / bulky - not necessarily very heavy.
Maybe my use case is niche but not sure.. I'd have thought ther's definitely a market for a bike like that.I did think about getting an Omnium Mini @MisterMikkel, but storage would still be a bit of an issue for me, plus it's very expensive, doesn't offer much more than a rack, and I've heard a lot of times the handling isn't great really..

I haven’t heard this before.. Be interested to know what the general consensus is because I’m quite tempted by one at some point.
I’m a little skeptical of others opinions as oftentimes people will hop on a cargo bike and say ‘ew the handling is terrible’ as they are just completely not used to the geo and ride feel. Couple of weeks in the saddle and they will think it’s absolutely fine…
But if there are many similar reports I’d be more inclined to take note.

I've got an omnium mini, its my daily bike - my kid sits on the rack on the front on the school run, and I use it to get shopping etc so i don't need to drive the car.
If you put A LOT of weight on the front, you get a bit of a shimmy at high speeds, last week I had a cast iron bench on the front (in pieces) and it didn't like it, but was very heavy.Everyday riding is great - the short wheel base reminds me of my polo bike, endo turns are a piece of piss.

What items do you expect to move on a cargo?
If storage is the main issue and handling the second. I'd look into getting a flatbed trailer instead. The load on Mini sits much lower, which is nice when you carry heavy stuff, and it allows you to see over the top of a lot of bulk.
-
• #10721
Yea, borrowing a trailer is what I do usually - didn't buy one myself as I don't need it that often, plus again there's the issuue with where to put the thing when not in use..

My mate was building a Brompton esque small wheel folding load cargo bike. The rack folds side ways as do bars like a Brompton so would live in a corridor very happily. Handling was also 👌

• #10723
I have one and love it! The only time the handling was shit is when I had an SDS in box and two bags of tile adhesive on the front and two watermelons in panniers at the back with more shopping ...

what is the interval between swapping the gates belt drive on an ebike?
I'm sure I've seen this around town a fair bit. Not for a little while though! Definitely watching that now and I shouldn't be...
