Aw 🥲 sad. Time for mk2!

Oh no!
Well, you need to find old super strong alpine skis instead, these ones of course!

As long as you know they probably have a foam core, so the CSK screws into the base may not hold very well. Did you use proper ski screws on the first version? They generally have a larger thread:shaft ratio to help the hold in light materials.

Well if you have access to all the Delrin or POM you need, I would fabricate some kind of sliding/locking mechanism and a bolt on adapter so you could use the existing binding holes. That would require some more design, but the whole package would become more packable.
edit: if you are feeling more adventurous, you could also simulate a ski boot adaptor and click the whole sled structure in the ski itself. Wouldn't that just be a machined plate with some POM in the front and back?

Very good, I'd say go for skis with more of a carving profile and just substitute a steeper hill for loss of speed!
Also some low friction (skidvalla och beeswax?) washers on the underside of the skis?

Nice! Looks faster than MK1 (which is important).
The applications of Greenland wax combined with a hairdryer is near infinite

Ahah this sled is so rad. You need some proper silders. First gen. 1080 for exemple

Back working on @Tijmen 's stem/rack. Tube bender has developed quite a lot. I will be able to reproduce racks a lot quicker and more precise now. Hopefully I'll find time to shoot and edit a video where I bend and weld the rack and put it on YouTube.
I can't go into too much detail on how I designed and made this bender. But trust me it took forever and I had to use all my braincells.

Really impressed with this 3d-bending tool. The slot is a v. smart solution. I guess in theory you could also add another parallel bending arm and fixture on the left hand side for double action!

Thank you.
I am not sure dual bending would make things quicker. Idea is to do batches of let's say 10. Then I'll do one bend x10, then setup for the next x10 and so on. I my head that makes sense rather than having 6 bending jigs around the workshop.

Yeah you're probably right, but maybe if you want to bend two different dimensions at the same time?
Anyhow looking forward to Hulsroy Inc made racks!

Stunning! I’ve not done any road riding in 2022 at all and haven’t really missed it until winter set in. Something about minimal landscapes and that place your mind goes on long, lonely rides.
