If the nut is part of the cartridge, and so disposable, you could always grab it with mole grips.
The nut must be available but not gone one with the new cartridge. should be able to find one. Cheers for your help
I’d have a cautious go with a decent set of grips/dogs/pipe wrenches/channel locks (delete as regionally appropriate).
