I have a category of film/tv things which aren’t good enough to waste my wife”s time watching together. In my mind these things are filed under “straight to turbo” and are the mental pap that gets me through trainerroad workouts.

It feels trite to reference the Dunning–Kruger effect in forum chat, but watching the penultimate one (haven't caught up yet) really showed peoples over confidence in their own abilities.
I am sure this was key part of the vetting process.
The logic some of them use is astonishing too - too loud, too quiet, didn't drink, etc. All whilst not recognising that you need to keep your head down to avoid being offed.
On the herd mentally tho - I've seen this a few times irl, and it's amazing how quickly everything can get all crucible.

Traitors has been talk of the office, started with one person recommending it and then slowly more and more people have started watching it and hyping it up. Started to watch it myself and it’s fine, but it’s just watching people play a game of resistance/avalon/coup/werewolf/secret hitler/whatever the original parlour game that they’re all based on is, which is starting to get a bit boring for me now. I do like how every person suggests that their profession somehow helps with the game no matter what they do, the producers must give a leading question in the interview portions for this to come up so often.

I’ve binged Dirk Gently’s holistic detective agency. Really enjoyed it.

Same, really easy watching with a good degree of violence and humour. She is very good as Wednesday and little easter eggs to past films and series are nice.
Was a little afraid to mention on here, because definitely aimed at teens and i'm 45yeras past that.

Nah, it's one of those series that has something for all ages. Like Pingu.

Enjoyed it too, even if the ending didn't feel like much of an ending, just a tidying up before the inevitable second series.
Enjoyed recognising all the 90s Jpop

Handmaid's Tail. I don't know why I do it to myself. Of course something bad is going to happen.

Very much this.
Wednesday is good fun and Pengu rocks!

Started watching Ghosts; early days and it's not laugh out loud funny, but some very clever bits nonetheless

Have you considered horrible histories? Obviously a kids show but pretty good if you don't have to watch it 800 times and you will learn some decent pub quiz knowledge.

Yonderland was also great

The Karin Dreijer make—up on death is a really obscure joke

It was.

Too obscure for me.

Just watched the first episode of Wednesday, I think it's the first thing I've seen my daughter watch in about a year without looking at her phone, I thought it was alright too.

It regularly throws crumbs to the older audience, like Wednesday playing Paint It Black on the cello. It does the Princess Bride trick of celebrating more than satirising a genre by having a main character constantly criticising the conventions while reluctantly going along with them.
Besides, it makes good use of Gwendoline Christie, for which there should be a whole Baftas category.

It's decent, Wednesday is like a young Aubrey Plaza (not that she's that old(Christ she's 5 months older than me)) and the show is like a better Sabrina, although that was ok for a bit.

The rest of the Addams family is mostly disappointing. Zeta Jones is a waste of space as Morticia.

The Bad Guy on Amazon is very watchable.

I saw it reviewed as being brilliant until Willow shows up

Yes, this and Sandman. Also, her costumes are amazing.

Someone at work said this too, oh well, in it for the season now.
Traitors - terrifying how the herd mentality stuck so quickly. I’m amazed at how the contestants are jumping to conclusions with no evidence at all. Nothing during the day is set to uncover the traitors. Surely the traitors just spend the day pretending to be faithful? It is completely addictive and completely awful in equal measure.
And why do they get so upset when accused of being a traitor? It’s not a personality flaw it was Claudia Winkelman putting her arm on their shoulder.
