Cheers. It's hard to get the detail in that photo due to the lighting and varnish though

Ah great stuff, I was in Vault not that long ago..

No way. Yeah it's a great spot. Hopefully there'll be plenty more events there before we have to move next year

My nephew is really into making comics, he's 9. And just uses pencils and crayons. Can anyone recommend a decent upgrade for him pen or marker wise...?

Markers will probably be Letraset Pantone markers. Spendy tho but.
ETA - Paper suitable for the same is your friend.
ETfA - If you are in London, London Graphics in Covent Garden are your friend - for the paper, at least.
ETefA - Doesn't look like Letraset do these any more - However Winsor & Newton do. -

My daughter has the Windsor & Newton markers which she rates; Copic are apparently even better but mega-spendy

Great, how old? These markers are pretty pricey. I wonder if there's a halfway house....

She is 11. There are cheaper chinese options on Amazon, pick some with a half-decent review and they won't be a disaster

Totally. The tool library is an amazing resource.

The Windsor and Newtown markers are worth a shot. Decent markers

Will see how deep my pockets are. They may end up getting something cheap and cheerful first.

Failing that you can't go wrong with coloured Sharpies

Can't stress enough how important it is to have the paper marker compliant. They won't be any good on ordinary paper.
ETA - If you draw a line using a marker on ordinary paper, it'll bloom and bleed. The line will not have a crisp, even edge. -

Understood. Based on what I've seen of their "work" so far, I think the tech stuff can wait until they are a bit further along and it isn't just a flash in the pan phase. Although, no doubt there's something to be said for having the right kit even starting out to encourage results....their birthday is in February, so we'll see how they go...
Some photos of part of a recent exhibition I held in Belfast
