• It seems to depend from barista to barista. It is literally a coffee “cut” with milk. The variations tend to be heated/steamed/textured milk.

    Best served in a Gibraltar rocks glass. My glasses are 5oz glasses, given I tend to pull 35g double shots by your reckoning it’d need two double shots to get a 50/50 coffee/milk ratio - not a drink I would want. But ymmv

    One of my favourite baristas just offered “coffee with milk” in various sizes and would then alter the milk preparation as he saw best to compliment the shots he was pulling and the size of beverage requested. This was because in his understanding the names of different coffees with milk were an utter mess with no consistency. I have seen people argue loudly about the inclusion or exclusion of chocolate in cappuccino, have been presented with filter coffee with milk when I asked for a flat white.
