You can also drop with me at Paradise Cycles in Bethnal Green, although I think it might be a couple of weeks until our next visit...

Cheers! I actually wonder what is the most affordable of all the powder coaters in london?
I'd love to stay arround £1o0 (I understand it is on the low side) -
• #1955
Steve at aurum, others maybe cheaper but you wont get anywhere near his level of skill. He really is the best
-
• #1956
His prices are going up from January so get in quick
-
• #1957
Damn yes better hurry, ok I'll try with him
-
• #1958
He's charged the same amount for a number of years whilst his costs have crept higher. Don't blame him, he does good work

I’ve emailed Clever Mike to see about getting a frame to Steve, I too have been scrolling through this thread trying to make sense of how one connects to Steve at Aurum. Is that done solely through Clever Mike?
Also, would a carbon fork need to be stripped of paint before sending it to him? What’s his turn around time like lately?

No, you can deal direct but he doesn't respond to emails and only has someone in the office one day a week. Best to phone him.
But if you don't want to post a frame to him then it's best to take it to one of the previously mentioned shops and let them deal with it anyway -

This is really useful and great advice, thank you so much. I will go down this route, i got some good quality paint stripper and will start working on the frame. thanks again!

Has anyone gone for a 'hammered' type finish using powder coats on their bike?
There are some websites with examples and I thought it looked interesting
-
• #1964
I'm sure someone on here has done something similar. I want to say it was a dark green paint job on a Pompino but I might be wrong!

thanks, thats v nice. anyone know if Steve will do it or something similar? Guess I can ask for it and he'll call / mail me if its a no go. Will just be dropping it off to one of the shops that do collections for him.
Can anyone ping me his email address (used to have it but now lost) and I'll see if he gets back to me :)

That's the one! I was close with the paint colour.
-
• #1968
Honestly, phone him. He won't reply to your email.
He can get powders from Prismatic who have some hammered ones so I think he should be able to -
• #1969
Ok cool, would you mind dm ing / texting me his number if you have it?

I have this finish on my Brompton. 100% 'sick'.
Looks pretty plain at first glance which is why I like it

I just want a basic respray of a carbon frame. Any recommendations?
-
• #1975
I'm also looking to get an old carbon frame resprayed. Spoke to Mario Vaz the other day and he will do a single color no decals for £170 I think. Colourtech in Dartford was going to be over £300 which I think is mainly down to the manual prep time. So does make me wonder what the finish will be like with Mario but I'm not too precious about this frame so think I'll give it a go. Hoping to drop it down to him later in the week.
Interested to hear of any other options though.
Thank you guys!
