Another recommendation for Squier or Harley Benton, and a decent used amp instead of the ones that end up in these starter packs. Nothing kills enthusiasm more than an uncomfortable guitar that is difficult to keep in tune, which you should be able to avoid with Squier and HB. Likewise an anaemic-sounding practice amp. Something with reverb built-in makes it much more enjoyable.
