Hive mind help here - we've knocked through a door under the stairs to join the dining a living rooms and closing off the door at the front of the house to make a storage cupboard. It's probably best to remove the oak post but worried we're losing a lot of the characterful features of the house - though neither that or the panelling are strictly original they do give the house charm.
Does the curved wall and then nibb look clunky?
Do not love curve and nib - could the store be squared off - or even (gasp) 45 degree corner instead - and could you salvage panelling to continue the dado around it ?
