Sometimes there's a switch on the battery itself. Check if there is one, you'll need to turn it on, if so.

unclick and click close all cable connections

Thanks for this @IrPOWERranger
@M_A_X yes there is a switch, have turned it on. Have tried starting the display while stationary, while moving. Have made sure the battery is locked (have tried it unlocked too). Have tried all combinations, pushing the throttle, etc.
@amey Have tried that - but they are quite stiff, didn't want to push it as I'm unsure about how much resistance I should be expecting.

Could the drop in temperature be fucking with it somehow? The bike is indoors in a locked shed, but it's not exactly the Med in there.
Also, I saw this wire tunnel the other day, makes sense to keep the cables away from the elements. At the moment they are exposed on the underside of the bike. Does anyone else here have something similar installed?

they are tight, i always bang my hand against something unclicking mine. There is almost an audible click when they are properly pressed in.

the main connection to worry about will be from the battery holder to the controller. Have you checked that one?
Normally two separate connections for + / -

A misty morning by the seaside yesterday.
I use this thing at least twice a day, and the little one LOVES it. Every trip is the purest of bicycle utility & joy.

Basic Dutch longjohns are the best!

Totally! Love it! Still gradually improving it- the 700c back wheel has zero clearance for guards and the hub is knackered so I’m on the hunt for a 26” nexus with roller brake.

Argh I just sold one on eBay last week!

I run a disc wheel with a questionable disc adapter on the back of my bakfiets. Not nice, fiddly, but works. And yes, 26 and wider is really good.
-
• #10664
Interesting! I was thinking about doing that- do you have any pics?
I was actually considering going full janky and running a derailleur adapter too and going with a standard 26” MTB rear wheel as I’ve got most of the shifter/brake/gear bits lying around

Have checked them all. Nothing seems amiss from the other day when everything worked fine. But I don't really know what the fuck I'm looking at here, or what I'd be looking for to remedy any problem. Feeling very useless with zero Ebike knowledge. I'll have to bring it back to Besbike and get them to sort it. Hopefully it can be done quickly and they can show me what to do in future.

Oooft, 8 weeks! PedalMe were really helpful when I needed a new front sprocket for a UA and couldn't get one for ages. Might be worth getting in touch with them if nobody on here can offer an alternative solution?

SbcAnyone else?

I don’t work at pedal me anymore, but when I was there I did order a bunch of springs to stockpile.. It’s been long enough though that I’m not aware of a new all metal stand, although all the ones on the XL were all metal iirc. I can message the current mech and get him to message me some pics :-) .
I also investigated getting some springs custom made, Never got a quote in the end because replacement springs arrived but could also be an idea if you’re out of options.

It's not a new stand, same as the ones pedal me had when I was there a few years ago. I'll get in touch with pedal me. Thanks!

If it wasn't for my bargain very nice wheels I would also go derailleur, not a big fan of the alfine. Felt nice for maybe two weeks after the rebuild. Now, not so much. Think the really long cable doesn't help.
Had to cut off the rack eyelet to make it fit. When you roll backwards with brakes on it moves and then needs a little tap so it rests against the stay again. Would not keep as is if I lived somewhere hilly, but has been solid for 2 years of daily short rides now.

Put big penny washers in bottom of feet before attaching to bullitt.
Protects plastic foot from being pushed through by tube.
And if you've worn the metal tubes down add more washers to get back to correct height.
