The Fellow on York Way is good for heated rooftop covered seating area if you're into that there smoking.
The Star of Kings for slightly moodier vibes a bit further up.
I quite like the Harrison down Grays Inn Road, off the beaten track and do some great live music downstairs from time to time.
A bit further, but the Duke on Doughy Mews is an art deco gem, run by a hilariously bad/grumpy landlady, it is a bit of a local institution and you'll see/meet all sorts in there.

Depends what you want, there's a lot of options of different types.
I'd second the Harrison, the Queens Head is also nice in the same type of area. Kings Charles I is a good, old school pub, Scottish Stores has decent beers. The Betjeman and the Parcel Yard are both surprisingly decent station pubs.
