I sweat in all of them even when it's 0 degrees out there.
I sweaty in everything, even the Rab jacket that's waaaay too high end/expensive for me to have bought and I only have because it 'fell off the back of a truck'. I figure if I'm getting sweaty in that then I'll be sweaty in anything so I've learned to deal with it as best I can through layering and fabric choice

The answer is... there is no answer. There is nothing available at any price that will regulate temperature. Every 'technical' product is a compromise between wind / rain control and 'breathability'. Body shell temperature changes markedly from starting a ride to finishing a ride. If you are commuting then consider changing base layer(s) when you arrive !

I recently got one of these: https://www.endurasport.com/gv500-waterproof-jacketolive-green/12936374.html
I'd recommend it, it's significantly more breathable than other jackets I've had in the past, but still looks normal enough that I don't mind wearing it to the pub. And much more in line with my budget than some of the super high end alternatives. But as the others said, I don't think anything really waterproof will also be massively breathable. I wear a sweat wicking base layer for commuting which I swap for a normal t shirt when I arrive to work, works well for me!

MW have now got a UK site for this kind of thing... the only thing I can say is very good is my Arcteryx jacket but that was very spendy

Yeah, sure, but the assumption of my post is that I don't have problems with the waterproof/breathability tradeoff in technical garment. I am very happy with my Castelli Perfetto, for example. I just wish there was something similar, but more fashionable.
I do change my base layer when I arrive, that's what I do now. -

Are you talking about VIA Atelier in KingsX? If so, I emailed them and they only stock few items by MW, no outerwear.

the albion thread seems to be full of satisfied customers

Thanks! I haven't been lucky with the fit of Albion garments in the past, but so far, their Zoa Rain Shell is my #1 choice. I regret I didn't stop by their stand at Bespoked.

I bought an endura humvee recently as a commute jacket. seems pretty good so far although I've not worn it in a proper deluge yet.
the pit vents are good for a bit of additional airflow. big enough for plenty of layers underneath without being too baggy.
the only thing missing for me is hand warmer pockets which limits it slightly as a jacket off the bike. -

hand warmer pockets! That's the kind of features I am talking about, which I miss from more technical jackets when I am off the bike!

i had a previous version of the altura nightvision which did have hand warmer pockets and a rear zipped pocket.
that was a pretty good jacket until the waterproofing wore off and i'd basically worn it out.went for the endura this time though mainly due to their sustainability pledge and repair service.

Just looked into it and you can get it shipped, but didn't get as far as seeing where it comes from... check out Condor as well as they sell their new Acre range

honestly, after 10 years of commuting if it's raining my favourite is a well waxed barbour. They've got a double zip so if it's too hot then just unzip from the bottom and ride slower. And it's properly waterproof and when you get off the bike it looks normal.
I am looking for recommendations for a winter commuting jacket that breath like a technical cycling jacket, but it's more fashionable and a more relaxed fit, so that I can use it off the bike as well. Something to use during Winter in London. I tried a few (including the Chrome Storm), and I sweat in all of them even when it's 0 degrees out there.
Until a few years ago, there used to be a few jackets that met all requirements, most of them made out of Schoeller fabric, but now I can't find any. I don't know what happened to Schoeller.
I can only find Mission Workshop, but they are way too expensive and not really convenient to order them with shipping from US.
