Interested in cat if you're willing to split etc and so on.

I’m sure the shop that valued it at £1200 would pay £700 for it?
-

They’d be fools not to. £500 easy profit.

• #5
They’d have to refinish the top first.
-

Was it valued for insurance purposes?
-

Can the op confirm? Was the valuation by the shop on lower Sloane street as it stands or with the top refinished?

Such generosity, surprised this hasn’t sold tbh especially at this time of year.
Can imagine a whole family gathered round it eating Xmas dinner all amazed that someone let this go for only 700 quid! -

"has a lot of age related marks."
is it just 'general wear and tear commensurate with age' or 'it's totally fucked'?

I got one of these for £20 from gumtree 10 years ago. I did have to drive to Bognor in a hired van to collect it though. GLWS!
Has some signs of wear

Why are these so valuable? My parents have a table like this which was left in their house when they bought it about 20 years ago which they still use. I always assumed it was worthless!

Bugger.
Just in case - if you paid on credit card you should be able to get it back via them. On debit card it’s less likely but worth a try if it’s Visa or Mastercard as thet have a chargeback scheme.

Yeah, unfortunately we didn't pay on CC, but we've put a claim in through the bank. Latest press reports think we're likely to get a couple of pennies in the pound.
