That’s close! It is a Rotax 256 motor. Not a UK framemaker though…

Amongst a load of other old paperwork, the previous owner set a speed record on it of just over 148mph….not bad for a 250!

Mental, what a find. Are you going to be able to squeeze in your garage after this?

A lot of the alternative frames are trellis, must be extremely rare.

It's been pissing with rain mate, not even unloaded yet.

......I have a fairly urgent need to flog some stuff, I can't even get in the Garage at the moment.

I really fancy an R1150RT for my twice weekly 75 mile commute- mostly motorway with a bit of London.

It has got exhaust valves. It's a very different engine design - supposedly potent but fickle....

The only issue I had with the 1150 engine was the low speed o2 sensor balance. They only have an 02 sensor on one exhaust so it can run lean on the other cylinder at low revs. There's a box you can buy to fool the sensor into running a little richer.

It's a really good bike for anything other than low speed stuff around town. It can handle it but it's not really what it's designed for. From the 1200 engine on they've had 2 02 sensors.

Sold the Ducati last week, always a sad moment to see a bike leave. ;(

RTs are big lumps. Never had a RT but had an r1100rs and that was a very good bike. Fast enough, my quickest ever trip back from in laws in Devon to Wimbledon was on it, but still a comfortable tourer and mile muncher. Did Bilbao to Barcelona with the then gf on the back and return leg through the Pyrenees on it. Very underrated bikes.
