  • Zonda’s look nice , I’d de sticker them ... but that’s me

  • Back to the future? After all I did put the wheels from my original build back. I really think it looks best with those shiny wheels.

  • Definitely the best as it is now. Beautiful bike!

  • Nice!
I think it's time for different shaped bars though...

  • What happened to the RF cranks? They were the sickest part

  • I know, or at least put them at the correct angle. Only noticed after uploading.

  • This is (to my eyes, opinion is subjective) a few touches away from it’s full potential.

I agree that the silver wheels are best, but I’d switch the crank bolts to black, more rounded bars (either traditional or shallow drop), match the mechs to the cranks and shifters so black/carbon, silver or black ferrules, and I’d swap the saddle to something that doesn’t clash with the wheels.

  • Totally agree; used the bike on the turbo, hence the saddle. Got a nice white SLR ready. In terms of cranks, I am desperately looking for the box with the original cranks…

  • I think I left them at my ex‘s house 🙈

  • Okay what’s new; silver brake callipers, SLR saddle and found my good old school ringle skewers. Just missing to sort out the crankset.

  • Plz sort out these bars:(
I recommend Deda Piega; 26.0mm, cheap and nice shape

  • Thanks for the recommendation. Will have a browse what else is still available in 26. Kind of want an old school Cinelli.

  • Piega is a decent shout. I've just put some on my bike and they do allow 10sp Campagnolo shifters to approximate the current BDHU fetish whilst also satisfying the flat-bar-to-hood aesthetic of my formative set-up snobbery. The textured finish is rank though, especially if you're nervous around black boards.

  • The black finish on Deda Piegas isn’t great, but they are very easy to sand and polish if needed - I have done it a couple of times!

  • Exactly that. Which makes them so much better than Soma HWY ones. All too often, people buy the Somas because they’re available in silver. But the shape actually sucks. Couple years ago, when I worked for Steel Vintage Bikes, I enquired with Deda if they could produce the Piega 26 in silver as I was convinced (and still am) that there’s a market for them as they are the perfect bars for a neo retro build. They said it should be possible and that they would look into it - unfortunately we never pursued it any further and I changed jobs a couple weeks after the enquiry.

  • Speciales are available, 26mm clamp in silver too

  • I use nitto m109 bars on my kona. Silver & 26.0

  • @D_Mars Nice ride mate. I think this would be indeed the better bar for my bike. Is the second picture taken on Ditchling Beacon?

  • Thanks. The bars are nice, but the m106 NAS bars are the dream! Photos are Yorkshire dales (my stomping ground)
