What time is it? Watches and horology

It’s a bit like Omega 321 Vs 861, there are good reasons they redesigned the movement for cam operation but the older chronographs just feel nicer when you actuate the button.

It may not have been the best example, but I tried a vintage 321 Speedmaster recently and I didn’t feel the pusher actuation was that much nicer than a 1861, if at all.

Whereas the coaxial 9906 (column wheel / vertical clutch) in the new ‘57 felt amazing to me.

Couldn’t they have squeezed in a few more design cues?!
Nice lug shape but 14mm thickness for a hand wound movement seems a bit crap.

I’ve clearly got more sensitive fingers. I’ll tell thee something though, my 7733 is horrible to use :)

There's a lot going on for sure, haha. I'm sure the mint green hands will put a lot of people off. The colour choices generally are a bit Farer (tasteful, but a certain type of taste), aren't they? It's not really my bag, apart from the petrol blue base dial colour which is lovely IMO.

Agree on the thickness but then a FOIS is also 14mm as are a lot of other Speedmasters IIRC. The box crystal accounts for some of it I guess.

It might just have been the example at hand! And could certainly have been a pretty tired movement.

Or a bitsa with an 861 in it… 👀

The Club is such a shitter in real life. It looks great in photos IMO, but in real life its so meh. The case is so one dimensional and those lugs..........

Look how big and clunky it looks on all of these wrists.. with barely any drop to the lugs it just sits on top of the wrist like a dinner plate.

Yeah, I don’t know why they persist with those long straight lugs on everything.

Inchpincher and I checked out the Lux one time and it was massively underwhelming.
