If he’s a private seller, he’ll want the easiest way of getting the car gone and the cash in his pocket. He doesn’t really need to keep you happy as a customer, like a dealership would, as there’s less likelihood of any recourse down the line. An inspection may help with your peace of mind and aid the sale, but there’s not much benefit for the seller IMO.
Or there’s some right gremlins in there and he wants rid, haha.
Yeah, I can totally see why he wouldn't.
I'd just prefer it if he said "since you've spent money on it, I wouldn't dream of selling it out from under you" and I can't determine whether him not saying it is normal process, or because it's a wreck!
