It’s a bit like Omega 321 Vs 861, there are good reasons they redesigned the movement for cam operation but the older chronographs just feel nicer when you actuate the button.
It may not have been the best example, but I tried a vintage 321 Speedmaster recently and I didn’t feel the pusher actuation was that much nicer than a 1861, if at all.
Whereas the coaxial 9906 (column wheel / vertical clutch) in the new ‘57 felt amazing to me.
