Yeah, rescue greyhounds are super low drama but because they've had such shitty lives they apparently some won't really get snuggly with you...they just seem to be relieved to be safe and have a chance to rest from what I've heard.
I'm still working on the campaign to expand our family (kids are 4 and 7) to include a dog.
We dog-sat a friend's rescue greyhound over the summer which was insightful, mainly in that it clarified that we don't want a rescue greyhound. She was adorable in some ways, and my daughter fell hopelessly in love, but it was a bit of spanner in the works of convincing my wife. Sweet as Edith the rescue hound was, she was super nervous, and kinda unrewarding in that... no playing, no snuggling, no time off the lead. She mostly just sulked or slept, and needed to go out for about 6 huge wet shits a day.
Made me want to look at some smaller and more confident/playful doggos. Sorry Edith.
