That's pre 2010, and you'll probably need a disc with the operating system on.

Can you get the original OS by searching for the serial number(?), as generally Macs can only be down graded only as low as the OS it came with, and I bought a white unibody MacBook in 2008 / 2009 and that had snow leopard.
