Disc tab fixtures, diy, bodges etc.

I’ve added disc brake mounts (mostly iso tabs) to a few frames now and so far I’ve been using a janky old hub/rotor and a hooky bb7 caliper that all the plastic bits are melting off of.

I’m thinking I should get something better.

What have you got? How does it work? Have you made your own?

I’m noticing that the likes of the Feng Shui only has one fixed orientation for the two holes. Is that enough? Is that how I should be doing it?

Using the caliper and hub/rotor is very analogue/organic in terms of orientation of the mount, I usually play about with it to balance pad contact, rotor/caliper clearance and tab to frame contact and so I’m not having to cut too much of my tab blank (just to make my life easier) but would it be better if I had/made something with a fixed orientation and stick to it?

I think the way I do it now generally works alright, haven’t had any complaints that I’ve put a tab in the wrong place anyway.

Heres mine, laser cut 20mm aluminium, fits to a dummy axle from paragon, I have the file somewhere if you want it.

I spied a post in the framebuilders fb group of someone looking for a fixture and someone else offered a Feng Shui but they were in the uk and op was in the us so I jumped in and the Feng Shui is on its way to me, stuck somewhere due to postal strikes I think.
