A resident of Balmarino, Fife to be precise.
Sadly his wonderful wife Margaret passed away earlier this year and it has been hard on him. They were thick as thieves and their many adventures are catalogued wonderfully in the second volume RSF Achive Book. He is the organiser of some of the best perms going in Scotland including the 1590km Eightsome Reel that I did last year.

George lives just south of Dundee. I bumped into him while back on a DIY as he was cycling near his home and said hello. I’d never met him before but we chatted for a bit about audax and he asked me about my route.
A week or so later a few friends went to visit him (he’s getting on now and I think he lives alone). He was still chuckling to himself about “the cyclist from Edinburgh who was riding all the stinky hills on a fixed.”
