Been trying to play streetfighter did a bit of arcade mode on the fight stick, despite playing with the same character for a couple of hours in training, still degenerated into a whole load of button mashing as I tried to pull off techniques.
Have discovered challenges which looks like a good way to help make you complete combos so going to start on those.
Also so far away from unlocking any other character apart from the first 8. -

One of the hardest parts of learning fighting games is overcoming the urge to hit the buttons multiple times to get the moves out.

I found that but then as I got to level 35 or so (I've also been playing it far too much) I realised that it seemed to have got much harder.

Looking forward to getting stuck in.
I seem to remember endless drilling in practice mode was the way to go ..On Snap, I do now seem to be running into players with an actual strategy ie not just bots / kids… building specific decks around things like on reveal powers helps

First do these card type games I’ve played properly… is this the gateway to magic , hearthstone and all those others. 🤔
MTG Arena is free to play and easy to pick up...

Interesting… I’d always heard it was supremely complicated.. here comes another rabbit hole 😂

To be fair, it's easy to pick up on Arena specifically because it prompts you with the things you can do which MTG can't do in real life. However a fair warning is that it can feel like you've jumped in a shark tank and you're only playing against pros. Ranked mode can be actually better than open play.

Great, now I'm addicted to marvel snap too.

^ yup, same. ta

MtG also has real variation in complexity, like if you play a control or a midrange deck you're going to have to make lots of important decisions and think a lot. If you play a true aggro deck, most of the time you are just slapping cards down, turning them sideways, and having a great time pretending you're a goblin chieftan.
Unfortunately the F2P economy in MTGA kind of sucks imo, even though I think I generally like MtG better I enjoy Hearthstone more due to being more F2P friendly. I also played Legends of Runeterra for a while and it was very enjoyable. The hardest thing in all of these games is not spending real money for the dopamine hit of gambling on random packs.

In fairness, pianoing, double tapping and plinking are all legit techniques which involve basically hitting the buttons multiple times to get moves to come out.

I found Arena pretty good to play for free. If you do the daily and weekly challenges you get a decent amount of gold for buying packs and the less frequent events will give whole decks. Spending some money does short cut it but it's not a hard pay wall like a lot of games have.

is this the gateway to magic , hearthstone and all those others. 🤔
I came from slay the spire and magic irl game.
This is a simplification of other games.
The newly released xcom like card influenced game is the next level up

May give MTG arena a go seeing as I’m on holiday and plenty of time to kill on a beach… will report back … if I don’t just end up playing more snap 😬

Preordered the PSVR2.
It’s a lot of money but previews all seem very positive right now.
Can always cancel if reviews are looking less positive.

It’s a lot of money
Compared to the PC VR options, it's a lot of bang for the buck.

This is true and how I’m currently justifying it.
Hoping that it gets a future firmware update to allow PC connection but seems super unlikely.

If anyone's looking for a charming rogue lite (rogue like?) Then Dreamscaper is worth a look. Very much enjoying it, can't beat 2nd boss yet though.

Punchy.Anyone know how VR fares with someone who needs glasses to see?
(not that I am interested in getting one, just curiosity)
Yup me too…
On holiday at the moment and seems to have found a permanent place on my Home Screen.
First do these card type games I’ve played properly… is this the gateway to magic , hearthstone and all those others. 🤔
In other news got an arcade stick waiting for me when I get home. Went mad in the Steam sale and get a fair few fighters and some other stuff .. and new fortnite season.. so plenty to get on with!
