Thanks! Somehow that Kona slipped my attention...

You're welcome.
Some of the early Scott had (rather) long headtubes too. E.g. my 1990 Boulder and 1991 Windriver.

Thanks! I actually found a 90s Windriver with a really long HT for a good price over here :)
It is looking like that one:

Great find. But it's from 1990, not 1991. I bought my Windriver back in 1991 (my first "real" bike ever), went a million times through the catalog before buying it, so I know every colour scheme of that year. ;-)
Hope to see a build thread soon. :-)

Exactly, 1990. Looking forward to receive it - I am contemplating about wheel size though. 26" straight forward or maybe 650b? Since I will have track dropouts brazed in anyway and want to have a nice fork, 650b might be a choice?! But will see. First I have to find someone who is willing to do the braze work - maybe I should ask @M_V ?
Cheers

Never did that kind of conversion but won't 650b pose some problems clearance wise?
I kept my old bikes 26" so far. I still love them for my offroad rides but yeah, it's frustrating when "big wheeled bikes" pass by and you have to push twice as hard to keep up with them. :-)
Hi,
for some fixed gear-rando-atb sort of things I am looking for a 19" steel mtb/atb frame from the late 1980s.
Thanks,
N.
