Really nice. All future submissions now require spoke cards from the good old days

Thanks for the offer but I've actually cannibalised most of the parts from this build for something else for now!

Yeh. Thanks for that.

Helpful for me at least. When I think I'm being insufferable about fixie stuff at least I can go 'well there is that aethos guy'

I have really liked this thread lately. Brakes, and possibly a front/rear brake combo sounds appealing to my aching knees. Here's a shelf in my house (I need to get off internet classifieds), what would lend itself best to a road fixed build? HVZ Sport Git, forkless GTB from hell, Pake Rumrunner, or "Villin" with oddball curved seat stays made by a local guy?

Nice choices you got! I would go for the USSR thing with some low profile rims

I have rumrunner and although set up more fixie skidder than road fixed, can say I am very happy with it for the fixed road rides I do. You are however spoiled for choice there.

I'd guess the ХВЗ Спорт is going to be the most road bike. It's certainly the one I'd keep from that group.

Readers. Need a bit more mudguard fettling and a bit of BDHD or at least bars down hoods stay where they are.

I've done a V1 conversion of my usually flat-bar Surly Steamroller idiot wagon but it isn't quite hitting the mark.
I want to go full Carradice botherer for the winter. May I please see your tastiest Steamy builds to soothe and inspire my weary mind?

I've got a set of these somewhere you're welcome to try, if you like? https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brake-levers/black-cane-creek-drop-v-brake-levers/
I used to use them on my old SSCX. They're definitely on the small side and were never that comfortable for my massive hands. Plus, matchy-matchy with your stem.
