  • Talking of sim racing, is there a knack to getting good with a wheel?

    I have a G29 for the playsatan.
I am shockingly bad with the wheel.
Did a day playing some NASCAR games and was ok, but they are mostly ovals or short track dirt courses

GT7 plus me and wheel = pile o' shite.

  • Some games are designed for gamepads and something like GT7 is probably more in that zone. Also worth noting that there's a night and day difference between a direct drive wheel (££££) and something more console focussed like a G29, especially if you're using it on your lap / a table etc - you'll always struggle imo.

Having said that, there are some people who are able to put in top 100 global times with no feedback so practice (practice, practice) is also an element.

  • I picked up an old Driving Force Pro (the wheel that came out to pair with GT4 on the PS2), and it was actually pretty decent with GT4. Mainly use it with Assetto Corsa on PC and naturally if feels a bit better there but it wasn't significant as far as I recall.

Is there a particular issue you're having? Not getting enough feedback or it being delayed?

Was pretty damn surprised at how much fun GT4 was with the wheel considering they're almost 20 years old!
