I hope i will forget after the first ride. Up close they are so beautifully built and everyone raves about the ride quality so I'm sure i won't be disappointed. Any pics of yours to keep me going?

• #103
Sure, all pictures can be found in my CP thread. Not gonna photobomb your topic here :)

• #104
Wow what a transformation it looks incredible. I need to check in on the CP thread more. I'm going for a very similar build style to yours 👌

thanks. Your's will be even better I think, love your choice of components.

Just been in touch with the shop i ordered the frame from as I've seen the rrp on these has just gone up by £300 and wanted to check when my frame finally arrives I'm paying the balance on the price when i ordered it not the current rrp as i didn't want to assume. They have confirmed that is the case so all good but the told me these frames are going up again by a similar amount Oct/Nov for 2023 to around £2700 with an advised lead time of 10 months now. So if anyone is looking to buy one of these new I'd get in before yet another price jump as that'll be an increase of £600 in less than a year and with a longer wait. You can get a custom xcr frame built for that kind of money with optimistically less of a wait so kinda wishing I'd done that now but i didn't know the troubles I'd have with this at time so it's one of them 🤷🏻♂️ I'm just going to try and forget about it now and wait for the call.

Any news on your frame yet? Kinda been put off from ordering one with how long you've been waiting.

No news and no response to my last two emails so i haven't a clue what's going on with it. An initial 6 months is 15 months and counting with no date now my third delivery date has been and gone. This will be the case with all of these frames as mine is coming through the usual channels. I've not checked current pricing but have been told by the shop Colnago are about to bump the prices up on these to £2700+ fortunately I'm on a price freeze on mine. Pushing 3k with a potential 2 year wait you'd think you'd have plenty of options but everything has gone up and made to order or custom frames all seem to be about 18 months. I'm hearing of off spec problems with custom builds at the moment as well so I'm just going to wait. I've gone from excited to frustrated to just over it with this build now which is a shame because this was supposed to be a dream build for me and several times I've been thinking about cutting my losses and fucking this one off.

Feel for you mate, I can't imagine how frustrating this has been on you. I might hold off from ordering one and keep my eye on the 2nd hand market for one to turn up. Probably be the same timeframe if I do order one but at least it'll be cheaper. Annoyingly I really want this colourway but have only seen 2 come up on the market but neither were my size.

For whatever reason the black art decor and the plain white/chrome seem to be the hardest to get hold of new or second hand but i see yellow or red art decor frames pop up regularly on ebay. Every time I've chased up this frame the shop have told me they have the blue in store in a 54 but that's not what I want as I've selected all my other bits for the build to suit a black frame but could work with the white. I should relax about this because if it arrives before Christmas I'll build it straight away but probably won't ride it until spring as this will be a pure fair weather bike. I'm not that confident that I'll have this by the spring though at the moment.

I ordered saronni version. Original delivery date was November but knew that was never gonna happen. Emailed them (Italian website) to check in and said that usually is 6-8 months, but as Colnago close in Aug and Dec plus supply chain issue may be a bit longer.
‘Might’ be available early in new year.
If I get it by April I’d be happy.
Uncertainty is the killer.
Hopefully yours arrives soon -
• #112
At least i know not to take it personally with delays occurring all over the place. The Saronni red looks so nice in the metal and when ours do finally arrive they should be correct🤞
A guy i know had to wait twice as long as expected for his custom built frame and when it finally arrived the tube set and geometry were wrong -

Just spoke heard back from Colnago and have been told 3 more months. I won't hold my breath though 😴

Hopefully you get it before the weather gets better.

The only good thing about waiting very long for a timeless classic, is that it will always be a timeless classic.
Keep my fingers crossed for you @Retro_Bastard

Cheers both i was meant to have it for last spring so if i don't have it for this spring I'll be be so pissed off. As you say it is a timeless classic so worth waiting for. Bikes like my 1x aero bike I'm selling came in and went out of fashion in less time than I've been waiting for this

@Retro_Bastard any luck with your frame? Just got word that mine has been delivered to the shop so hopefully you’re in similar boat!

Congratulations on yours i really hope mine is soon and their doing batch drops. Novembers date passed and revised to late Feb. Mine is over a year late now. I've had moments when i thought about building something else but the available Williers and Cinellis don't really do it for me and full custom is more expensive and comes with a long wait. As soon as we're in March I'll be chasing this up 👌 also do you know what thread BB cups these take now? Some spec sheets say English and some say Italian
-
• #119
I was pretty sure Italian thread for mine anyway. Bought off Italian site, so probably illegal to do English thread.
Possible that brexit cause of delays. I was going to buy from same shop as you (in NI) but I delayed to long and the price jumped a lot. Maybe I just got lucky though with this batch. Was only 3 months later than the estimated time.
Really hope you get it soon. -
• #120
Cheers I'll get the shop to confirm and order some Italian cups from them if needed. Everything Campag is expensive apart from their BB's fortunately. Post a pic of yours when you get it or maybe not if they tell me mine is going to be another 6 months 😂

They sent a couple pics to show it actually turned up.
Need to sort out the finishing kit and I should be ready to roll for the summer.
Have record/super record groupset (older 5 arm cranks) and shamal Mille wheelset. Can’t fucking wait.
Sorry if this is making it worse for you!

Looks great 👌 the only other neo retro frame i really liked was the Battaglin portafino but its so expensive. I managed to get my order in for a good price with the headset included so all I can do is wait in hope.
-
• #123
Definitely a good price. I delayed for so long and was pissed when price increased but just decided to do it then at the best available price (they ain’t getting cheaper). Definitely a few hundred quid more than the price you got.

I was actually banking on this not arriving for another couple of months as had bought another bike couple weeks ago. Had only paid deposit for this in June, so taken a serious hit to finances in last 2 weeks.
N+1 and all that jazz -
• #125
So yours was 9 months for delivery? Mines double that already. I don't think the extra stencilling and air brushing on mine warrants an extra 9 months. I'll be having a serious moan up next week.
Pffffeeew... I feel your pain. Had to wait +/- 1.5 year to get my Master Piu back from the painter for a respray/chrome. It's built now as mgoof. If if can give you some hope: the waiting time was forgotten even before I finished the first ride on it :)
