I've only ever bought on Discogs but sold loads on eBay and always used packing slips to stop last minute mix ups of 15 diff trainers in identical Nike boxes all being posted at the same time ;)
So I'll be sure to use them when I finally get around to selling there.

What are you selling? I'm always interested in old dance 12's.

I sent an unidentifiable jazz record to Germany that I wanted to keep and not the £150 Sun-Ra promo I meant to send. Mistakes do happen. Luckily the guy was very understanding and I paid for the swap.
I did have a record returned to me last week though, from Germany also. I think it because I didn't fill in the declaration properly but the man in the Post Office was convinced Germany were no longer accepting vinyl records. Wasn't too sure about that so ended up cancelling the order and lost money on the shipping.

There's a long answer and a short one.
I have a Discogs account but I changed my approach after selling close to a 1000 records (a lot in bulk) from a friends collection after he passed away. After selling a load I got down to some I wanted, some that were valuable and some that weren't. I found that selling someone's DJ'd dance tunes could be tricky in terms of grading so I have been slowly cleaning and properly grading when I can give it time.
I'll be listing them as and when but I'll be happy to hear they're popular because that's not always been the case.

I've just sold one and the buyer has an additional information box (something I've never seen before) :-
I'm sorry to have to add these comments but I have received too many LPs recently that do not match the advertised grading (some by a log shot!).
This is not personal - it is just as much help for you as it is for me.
This item is being purchased based upon the grading you have submitted.
Please note that on arrival it will be inspected under strong light and if it meets the visual grading I will then play it. If the discs do not look or play to grade the item will be returned at your cost.
Therefore if you feel this is not up to the grading you are suggesting please pull out of this transaction and refund my money.
I hope it is up to the grading you have suggested and we can both be winners :-)
Thanks for your understanding.I've just written back that for £5.50 (which is what I get after fees, packaging and postage) I'm not interested in taking the test.

Fucking hell, what a bellend. I wonder if they ever get anything sent to them?

As always, the answer is 'it depends '.
Some stuff is worth a mint now. I may be interested in some depending on style and artist/release

I've sold a lot of the good stuff I didn't want 10 years ago. Kept a lot of UK garage but there's a fair bit of funky house which is not really my bag.
I got into recording them to play out digitally and got quite a lot done but reached a point where I just couldn't do it any more. Since then I've been buying and selling a lot of new vinyl and it's all just a hobby so it doesn't get my undivided attention.
Looking at some of the boxes of lower price ones I have there are a few that have bubbled up from £5 to £20 which is great. Plenty sinking without trace though.
The other problem with 12" dance stuff from late 90's through to 2010's is the good ones got played a lot. So a lot of the best tunes have more wear than the not so good stuff.

A bit too late for me, I would have been interested in some very late 80's through to around 95.
-
• #1761
Me too. Sadly my friend was not actively buying during that period. I was also very busy getting mashed up.

I was also very busy getting mashed up.
Yep - great times!!

• #1763
Would you be up for selling the funky house records? I'm assuming it's UK Funky so stuff like Crazy Cousinz etc? If it's more like Joey negro I will still probably be interested!

I've got a pile of 12" plus some LPs from around 1989-1992 all in great condition and all available.

That Underground Software 12” is incredible.

• #1766
Don't suppose you have anything from the Trax label? So stuff like Mr Fingers, Frankie Knuckles etc?
-
• #1767
Most original Trax vinyl is the absolute worst pressing. The owner was a crook and the vinyl was recycled or something.
-
• #1768
Yes, I am still on the lookout for a reasonable pressing of Acid Trax
-
• #1769
I'll dm you a list.

I'll send a link to my discogs want list

• #1773
Yes please also
-
• #1774
Could you sent the list to me as well please, thanks.
-
• #1775
Definitely no Frankie Knuckles but I'll check at the w/e about any Trax titles.
It is more techno/hardcore than house from memory (R&S label etc.).
I had a mint copy of French Kiss but that's gone.
Tell me people are buying old dance 12" again. I have loads to sell. Normally you can't shift them for love or money.
