I was running DEORE XT Flat Pedals PD-M8140 for about a year, right hand side snapped going up as per usual commute hill :/
The internal spindle is pretty thin, think these pedals are crap!
Posting here because if anyone gets same problem the way to remove the bits stuck inside is HEAT!
