How many miles did this occur over?
Literally a few hundred meters!
I think it has to do with the paintless, matte finish of the LB rims, offering close to no protection apparently!

Not deep at all, can barely feel it with a finder on top, so it shouldn't be structural/affect the rim, obviously looks a bit meh tho.
I did email LB, at the very least to hear if there is a way of coating/polishing it back to a smooth surface.

Leaves + good thick peanut butter did the trick. And I stopped fairly quickly to clean it

Nah it was properly sloppy - I think the few miles on wet roads between the lanes and Welwyn GC helped to wash a lot off.
Had leaves stuck in the stays, but not acting as a rim brake - that wear seems A LOT for what you're describing!

Hopefully you can laquer it up

I’ll have to give them a try at some point. I’ve high hopes as I really rather their Sawtooths in 700x42c . Liz runs them on her TCX and she loves them too.
Oh the MS will get USED! -

I've never got along with spesh tyres, they have really high pressure recommendations and an odd shape that did mean a 42 fit in my fork when 40s are generally at the limit, but they've always felt slow as a trade off. Casings just feel OTT.

Shifters two years ago, but yeah, starting to become difficult to argue your point

I couldn’t stand the sawtooth either. Felt awful unless run at such a pressure have a high volume tyre was pointless.
My mate who is somewhat larger than me on the other hand loves them.

Different strokes I guess? I ran mine @ 40psi on the sequoia, did a few club rides on it and never felt I was struggling. Also dropped them to 25psi and hit thetford mtb routes and survived.
Liz has hers at 35psi and she loves them. (There’s nothing of her) They’re not a close as they look here, honest.

Sawtooth 42s on here. Initially thought they were awful. Might describe them as too sticky on the road. Tubeless 40psi rear and 30 front. After a few hundred miles I think they feel better and I’ve done some decent rides on them. Maybe not my favorite ti(y)res, but I can live with them until they wear out.

LB response on it:
You can use 2500 sandpaper to grind the surface smoothly and adding some water while you are grinding.

I do find some perverse pleasure in this sort of ride.

Me too! It happens so quickly when you’re on the right (wrong) soil. The bike gets to go where it wants to for a change.

These are 700c wheels right?
I've put pathfinders on mine and its night a day difference, defo recommended. Ace bikes, good to see it being used properly
