We had a chat with the forum's favourite, Mike from Crystal Clear on 2nd November.
It was great, he was really nice, very useful advice etc. Promised a follow up email by the following Friday (11th).
Nothing.
A few days after this, my wife emailed him again, a friendly one just asking if he could send over one of the bits he'd mentioned.
Still no reply.
His reputation on here speaks for itself, his online reviews are all excellent, but I can't recommend him based on our experience.
Even if he's been taken ill or gone on holiday or something, you'd hope a colleague might email his clients.

I think he’s very busy, we had emails replied late in the evenings and weekends and currently are waiting for a reply to a non urgent question.
compared to solicitors he’s speedy!
not making excuses for him but still overall happy with the advice/service. -

Get home from a trip to the house at 12 degrees, no water pressure in boiler and a boiler that won’t light.
Any one got any hot ideas while I have a meltdown and put off the usual phone around on a Monday to discover no plumbers are available…?
Baxi in BR1.

Has it ever lost pressure before? Have a good look around the system (radiators etc) for any obvious signs of a leak/weeping. May be worth trying to pressurise it again and see if it holds. Most boilers are easy to top up pressure.
-
• #56313
My Baxi flashes up the error code on the temp display which helps you identify how to fix. For pressure it normally needs a couple of valves released underneath until pressure reaches the right amount. Not sure about lighting though.

My angry slash exasperated post should have clarified I have pressure back to correct. Zero signs of leaves anywhere in the house. No dice on resetting boiler per instructions… just error code E133… why does this stuff only ever break on Sunday evenings? sobs

E133 for a Baxi says frozen condensate pipe. Doesn't sound likely...

There is a potential reason for total pressure loss. If the expansion chamber has failed and the pressure relief has operated. The pressure relief valve often doesn't seal again properly after that.

What baxi is it? 133 isn’t a frozen condensate that’s a failure to ignite, do you have gas? Is the stop cock under it turned off?
Sounds like you’re having a couple of issues and the pressure and the failure to ignite are different issues. If it was pressure related it would be 119 if it’s a duotec

I've got a Main boiler, same company as Baxi. Although online stuff seems to show condensate pipe it's actually failure to ignite as konstab said.
I needed a new ignition electrode on mine (surprising as only about a year old). Boiler engineer diagnosed it and I fitted it.
I used this guy who was very good. Not sure what area he covers https://rokas.london/

Thanks again folks - in classic fashion, boiler started when plumber looked at it.

Somehow they always know.

• #56323
Is it a new main? You should get more than a year out them
-
• #56324
Yes, suspect it was a faulty part from the start as it was never 100%.
I bought the place with it newly installed though so didn't have any warranty details.
