Cargo Bikes

  • I get this pretty much every day, unfortunately now with drastically fall in the GBP, brexit tariffs and 3-6x increase in EU to UK shipping costs, bikes especially large niche cargo bikes are worse than 1:1 with the euro.
There isn't a way around it for most people and the price is unlikely to come back down again (just seen latest price rises for eBullitts, 3rd time this year, an EP8 is closer to £8k RRP than £7k which is just mental).

Get a Danish friend, get them to buy the bike, take a nice ferry and a bus ride, then ride it home, it will be an adventure and you will be saving thousands of GBP. Warranty may be an issue, but you have thousands of GBP in your pocket to deal with this yourself ;)

  • Potentially cheap thing being laughed at on Retrobike: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165791130190

  • Saw someone with the same model this week, rider and kid in front seemed happy. It's pretty long.
Forks on this one look funny, and it certainly is no R&M, but I like affordable cargo bikes.

  • Is the r&m packster coming back?

  • Anyone fancy a just built 20 inch spank spoon on shutter precision qr hub dynamo wheel?

I had it built for a project bike but havnt managed to source a frame yet so it's just siting here.

    £175 posted.

  • Wide turning radius and you gotta lean into it a bit.

  • We used to have something similar at my old work. Horrendous to ride!

  • Considering letting this beauty go.

Stock bike was £4799.99 + £1000 ish of accessories

    We added the following parts;
203mm front rotor - better braking.
    High rail - £160 + brackets - £50
    Mini side loaders - £180
    2x rack pads - £100
    2x high rail pads - £50
    Front utility tray - £230 + bag - £140
    Wheel Guard set - £40
    Ergotec higher rise stem £30
Thule Yepp rear child seat £150

Fits perfectly for my wife at 5’7 and myself at 6’0.

Smallest rider about 5’4 I think.

Happily takes 2 kiddos on board, and still super easy to ride!
Relaxed position, wide tyres mean light off road is absolutely doable!

Everything works immaculately; it has done 750km. Bosch motor is flawless, very powerful, happily gets up 20% hills no trouble!

Supernova lights built in! We have also fitted a fair amount of reflective tape!

Based in Somerset, will deliver within the county, or within 100 miles for cost.

Cash, credit/debit card, Amex or PayPal (PayPal finance / pay in 3 then options). After about £4K

  • Looking good! Do you know what length bolts you need? I might be able to help.

  • If the new buyer doesn't fancy the rear rack high rail then i'd be interested.

  • 10-15mm I think. Whatever the usual high tensile steel ones are that come with disc brake calipers ? They usually have a built in washer type thing. Went round a few bike shops and none had any so would be mega if you do

  • I'll check my parts box and get back to you, for some reason I ordered 6 bolts for a caliper that I only needed 2 bolts for. I can't remember the length though, I suspect they're a bit longer than you need!

  • Just measured those bolts. 42mm, probably too long! On the offchance they're of any use to you, let me know and I can bring them to work in E14.

  • Every time I see cargo bike stuff I get tempted to build a school run bike... Is a mini max big enough to put a kid box on the front of or do I need a full cargo? Or is an Omnium not ideal anyway as the weight is a big higher than other cargos?

  • Thinking of selling my cargo bike in couple months if anyone interested.

  • Always slightly tempted by one, which size frame is it?

  • Bit too long unfortunately. Thankyou though! Managed to source some from Hackney Cycles today so at least its legal to ride

  • Sorry missed that. It's Large

  • There’s a Yepp kids seat mount for the Mini Max and the Cargo now, both have enough rack space to carry a bag behind the seat but more on the Cargo rack

  • Almost done putting this thing back together. Excited to try hauling the wife and kid 😂
