  • I need to get some weight off my Brompton. Thinking titanium post, but my centre crank to top of saddle measurement is 805mm, so I need telescopic. Can't seem to find a titanium telescopic option anywhere but i'm sure ive seen it mentioned.

    Looking for other ideas. Should I swap out my Marathon tyres to Conti Urban? Rear rack; quite a few on Aliexpress, which one is worth a punt?

    BB? Headset? Cranks?

  • Should I swap out my Marathon tyres to Conti Urban?

    I think that is worth doing. A nicer ride, less rotating mass, and a little weight saving.

    I guess ti triangle and forks are the next biggest weight saving targets but sadly out of my budget.

    The ti post has always struck me as a very expensive way to save not a lot of weight.

    Pedals?

  • Yeh, think i will upgrade the tyres first.

    Brompton telescopic post = 706 grams (currently on my bike)
    Ti Parts Workshop Titanium 600mm - 284 grams (if i can get away with 600mm instead of telescopic!)

    Pedals i've swapped out already. And removed my Brooks :'(

    Edit: didnt mention my bike currently has a Brompton telescopic and i'm doing measurements to see if I can get a 600mm exteneded post instead in there.

  • whats ya budget? I have two sets in stock...

    seatpost is well worth it;
    Brompton Extended 580mm - 517 grams
    Jtek Titanium 580mm (includes clamp) - 350 grams

    saves 276 grams.
