So England avoid losing 4-0 and go through, right?
-
• #163103
A genius piece of tournament football, doing the least possible to get out of the group so the players will be primed to perform in the second half of the tournament leading to a final with Spain where we will be vivisected.

Richarlison is a horrible bastard
Just FYI: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/25/richarlison-brazilians-bolsonaro-world-cup-brazil

That was a clueless performance. Utterly bereft of ideas, urgency, inventiveness and talent. And I reckon that's entirely down to Southgate. He's seen the USA v Wales game and said 'let them run at us, they'll be tired out in the last 20 minutes'. The only way England progress in this tournament is ignoring what Southgate tells them. Otherwise, beaten by Ecuador/the Neds in the last 16.

A horrible footballing bastard.
Like Craig Bellamy being a twat on the pitch doesn't stop you being a good bloke off it
-
• #163110
Is he that bad? Walks around with a face on a lot, occasional overexcited tackle here and there but he’s not exactly Luis Suarez or Pepe. And he does get fouled a lot.
-
• #163111
How much of the Iran performance was down to Southgate would you say?
-
• #163112
Not much. Iran were poor in that game and had been killed off within 30 minutes. England look great when they take an early lead, but so do most teams. They look shit if teams go at them like the USA did this evening because they don't really know what they're supposed to do when they're on the back foot. Southgate doesn't know either.
-
• #163113
He dives a lot, complains a lot, is pretty cynical in his fouling.
As I said though, a modern Robbie Savage, would love him to play for my team.
-
• #163114
I am struggling to remember Robbie Savage scoring a goal like that, and Richarlison's anti Bolsonaro stance certainly adds to his appeal for me.
-
• #163115
Is there anything better than England fans having a collective meltdown?
-
• #163116
Utter nonsense.
-
• #163117
I was disappointed to see silva is pro bolsonaro. Richarlison is quite a stand out in the Brazilian team in that respect I'm definitely warming to him .
Def in the "our bustard" category or even cult hero. Just has that energy -

Not gonna lie, I still love the guy. As disappointed by a player transfer as I’ve probably ever been. Not since Cahill has any player really ‘got’ Everton like he did. He properly embraced the club and everything you read about him off the pitch is excellent. Helps that he’s a bit bonkers as well.
-
• #163119
Yeah you can see that in the way he plays. Also love he is bonkers.

Great first half Tunisia vs Australia
goal was a beauty.. from Duke -
• #163121
I wonder if England fans booed off the 0-0 group game against Uruguay in 1966?
-
• #163122
Probably just heavy tutting
-
• #163123
That’s hardly a comparison. Uruguay won the World Cup twice before England had a sniff at it.
-
• #163124
The comparsion is a team getting exactly what's needed from a group game and going on to do well in the tournament.
What was important last night was stopping USA getting 3 points, keeping a clean sheet and now they're in the best position of all the teams in the group. The goal wasn't to entertain a bunch of whining smooth brain fans.
-
• #163125
So expecting a little more is smooth brain..ok. The game was terrible. I can def see that a point puts England in a great position but any who watched that last night and thought it was a pragmatic performance was watching a different game. The USA out played, out hustled and out worked England for 70/80 mins. It was a poor game but the positive to come out of it is a point and a clean sheet.
Praying on wales 4-0
