I always hang on until at least then if I can.
Surely the goal is ALWAYS to hang on for as long as you can... I find that knowing the cut-off for an FTP bump has actually had the effect that I pull the plug earlier (assuming I reach that cut-off), rather than continuing on to actually reach my physical limit.
I kinda say to myself, "Well I have a higher FTP anyway so that's already a win" and it demotivates me for the final few minutes...
AI before, test after. National Hill Climb in between.
Think my ramp tests have been compromised anyway since @cjr worked out and told me the exact time at which you’re into higher FTP territory. ie, anything past X mins = higher FTP, i I always hang on until at least then if I can.
I think I have done a blind ramp test at some point, came out the same.
