Ha, all good. Yep, it did come with slightly feeble mechanical discs but I upgraded the calipers to hydraulic actuation and now they're pretty much on par with proper hydro.
For what it's worth I'm still a huge fan of rim brakes and my summer/climbing bikes will never have disc ;)
