  • Veneered.

    I found a guide that suggests thinners, but want to hold off on that. It also suggested some sort of powdered clay stuff that should arrive tomorrow.

    So far kitchen towelling and careful use of fairy has improved things. But it's a reminder of why it's not worth owning any nice things whe you have children.

    Just gutted I didn't see it when it happened, or even last night.

  • That's looks like a great save tbh, I'd be happy with that. But then we've adapted our household to "nice but worn" so we don't have to worry about stuff like these

    Is there a risk that thinners could damage the veneer bonding? It is pretty aggressive stuff.

  • That looks pretty good. For me that would definitely just live under 'patina' and I'd leave it. (But I do like things to look lived-in.)
